Hebrew Transliteration Isaiah 62:1

For Zion's sake I will not keep silent,

until her righteousness shines like a bright light,
her salvation like a blazing torch

Parallel
A. Zion - Jerusalem
B. Silent - still
C. Righteousness - Salvation
D. Bright light - Blazing torch

Until the moment the parallel "keep silent" and "keep still" implied the LORD was silent and still, but now he will go in an active mode for Jerusalem and Zion's sake. The opposite of being silent is to "talk" and the opposite of being still is to "move", the LORD will act with the purpose that righteousness and salvation will be in Zion and Jerusalem as an ensign to the nations.

A bright light and a blazing torch are metaphors that represent something to "follow in darkness", it will be what the nations will look up to follow.

2 The nations shall behold your righteousness

you shall be called by a new name

Hebrew Transliteration Isaiah 62:2

Nations will see your righteousness,
      and all kings your glory
You will be called by a new name
that the mouth of the LORD will bestow

Parallel
A. Nations - Kings
B. Righteousness - glory
C. Called - Mouth
D. New name - bestow

Nations and rulers represent all the people who will see Zion/Jerusalem's righteousness which parallels with glory (flaming torch). The LORD opened his mouth (no keep silent) to bestow a new name to Zion and Jerusalem. This name comes from the mouth of Jehovah himself.

From Isaiah 62:1

A. until her righteousness shines like a bright light,
     B. her salvation like a blazing torch
A. Nations will see your righteousness,
     B. and all kings your glory

Chiasmus ABAB
A. Righteousness shines like a bright light - Nations will see it
B. Salvation like a blazing torch - glory

The purpose of the chiasmus is to illustrate the elements of righteousness and salvation, God's purposes, as what the nations will see. A blazing torch, a fire, is a metaphor for "glory".

If the mouth is represented by JEHOVAH's servant, then stop being silent represents sending his servant into the scene.

3 Then shall you be a crown of glory

You will be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD
a royal diadem in the palm of your God

Parallel
A. Crown of glory - royal diadem
B. Hand of the LORD - Palm of your God

The crown of glory parallels the royal diadem as a symbol of authority, which both are in the hand and palm of the LORD.

From Isaiah 62:2-3

A. and all kings your glory.
B.You will be called by a new name
     B. that the mouth of the LORD will bestow
A. You will be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD

Chiasmus ABBA
A. Glory - crown of glory
B. New name - bestowed by the LORD

The blazing torch, which is represented by glory, is the crown of glory in the LORD's hand. The new name bestowed by the LORD represents a new recreation of Zion/Jerusalem that the people will recognize among the nations.

Parallel
A. Never be silent - Shall take no rest

Metaphor
Watchmen: Those who are called to protect Jerusalem, as the watchmen were placed on a tower (wall) to see the enemy coming.

Hyperbole
Never be silent - shall take no rest: Exaggerates the point to emphasize that Jerusalem will be overprotected.

nor will the foreigners drink the new wine for which you have toiled.

Parallel I
A. His right hand - His mighty arm

Right hand and mighty arm parallel as power and authority.

Chiasmus
A. Never again will I give your grain
      B. to your enemies for food
      B. nor will the foreigners drink the new wine
B. for which you have toiled.

Anaphora: the repetition of the word "will" at the beginning of the two independent clauses, emphasizes the idea of a strong determination and a promise.

Epithet: the use of "His right hand" and "His mighty arm" to describe the Lord, it is an adjective or phrase that characterizes a person or thing by describing a characteristic or attribute that defines it. It is used to create a strong image and to emphasize the power of the Lord.

Chiasmus: it is a literary structure in which the order of the words, phrases or clauses in the first half of a sentence is reversed in the second half to create a mirror-like structure. In this verse, the structure is in the form of "grain" and "new wine" and "enemies" and "foreigners" are presented in a reverse order.

Metaphor: the use of "grain" and "new wine" to refer to the people's resources and hard work, it is used to illustrate the idea of the Lord's protection over the people's resources.

Asyndeton: the phrase "nor will the foreigners drink the new wine for which you have toiled" is a literary device called Asyndeton, which is the omission of conjunctions between related clauses or phrases, it creates a sense of speed and urgency.

9 Those who harvest it shall eat it,
      giving praise to Jehovah;
those who gather it shall drink it
within the environs of my sanctuary.

Hebrew Transliteration Isaiah 62:1

For Zion's sake I will not keep silent,
and for Jerusalem's sake I will not keep still,
until her righteousness shines like a bright light,
her salvation like a blazing torch

Parallel
A. Zion - Jerusalem
B. Silent - still
C. Righteousness - Salvation
D. Bright light - Blazing torch

Until the moment the parallel "keep silent" and "keep still" implied the LORD was silent and still, but now he will go in an active mode for Jerusalem and Zion's sake. The opposite of being silent is to "talk" and the opposite of being still is to "move", the LORD will act with the purpose that righteousness and salvation will be in Zion and Jerusalem.

A bright light and a blazing torch are metaphors that represent something to "follow in darkness", it will be what the nations will look up to follow.
