References to Garments in Genesis

  1. Genesis 3:7: Fig leaves - Adam and Eve sewed fig leaves together to cover their nakedness after eating from the Tree of Knowledge.
  2. Genesis 3:21: Garment of skins - God made garments of skin for Adam and Eve to clothe them.
  3. Genesis 9:21-23: Noah's nakedness - Noah's sons, Shem and Japheth, covered their father's nakedness after he became drunk and lay uncovered in his tent.
  4. Genesis 24:65: Rebekah's bride covering - Rebekah took a veil and covered herself when she met Isaac.
  5. Genesis 27:15-16: Jacob's deceptive garment - Rebekah dressed Jacob in Esau's clothes to deceive Isaac into giving Jacob the blessing.
