Promise of a Great Name I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on earth. 2 Samuel 7:9
Protection and Security for Israel And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning. 2 Samuel 7:10
Establishment of David’s House and Kingdom The LORD declares to you that the LORD himself will establish a house for you: When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom. 2 Samuel 7:11-12
Everlasting Kingdom He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 2 Samuel 7:13
House and Everlasting Kingdom Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever. 2 Samuel 7:16
Sonship Covenant Relationship with God I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands. 2 Samuel 7:14
Everlasting love and Covenant But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. 2 Samuel 7:15
Covenant Grant and Oath You said, ‘I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant, I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.’ Psalm 89:3-4
Perpetual Dynasty I will establish his line forever, his throne as long as the heavens endure. Psalm 89:29
Perpetual Dynasty that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me like the sun. Psalm 89:36
Sonship covenant Relationship with God He will call out to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, the Rock my Savior.’ And I will appoint him to be my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth. Psalm 89:26-27
Enduring Love and Faithfulness I will maintain my love to him forever, and my covenant with him will never fail. Psalm 89:28
Enduring Love and Faithfulness but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness. I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered. Psalm 89:33-34
Promise of Discipline with Continued Favor If his sons forsake my law and do not follow my statutes, if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my commands, I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging; but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness. Psalm 89:30-32
Righteous Judgment and Justice Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness. May he judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones with justice. Psalm 72:1-2
Universal Dominion May he rule from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth. Psalm 72:8
Enduring Blessing and Prosperity Long may he live! May gold from Sheba be given him. May people ever pray for him and bless him all day long. Let grain abound throughout the land; on the tops of the hills may it sway. May the crops flourish like Lebanon and thrive like the grass of the field. May his name endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun. Then all nations will be blessed through him, and they will call him blessed. Psalm 72:15-17
Zion and Divine Election and a house where the Lord can dwell The LORD swore an oath to David, a sure oath he will not revoke: 'One of your own descendants I will place on your throne. If your sons keep my covenant and the statutes I teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne for ever and ever.' For the LORD has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling, saying, 'This is my resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it.' Psalm 132:11-14
Provision and Salvation I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor I will satisfy with food. I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her faithful people will ever sing for joy. Psalm 132:15-16
Restoration and Prosperity ‘Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security. I will bring Judah and Israel back from captivity and will rebuild them as they were before. I will cleanse them from all the sin they have committed against me and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against me. Then this city will bring me renown, joy, praise and honor before all nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it; and they will be in awe and will tremble at the abundant prosperity and peace I provide for it.’ Jeremiah 33:6-9
Perpetual Dynasty patriarchal line and Priestly Line For this is what the LORD says: ‘David will never fail to have a man to sit on the throne of Israel, nor will the Levitical priests ever fail to have a man to stand before me continually to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings, and to present sacrifices.’ Jeremiah 33:17-18
Confirmation of the Covenant This is what the LORD says: ‘If you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, so that day and night no longer come at their appointed time, then my covenant with David my servant—and my covenant with the Levites who are priests ministering before me—can be broken and David will no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne. I will make the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who minister before me as countless as the stars in the sky and as measureless as the sand on the seashore.’ Jeremiah 33:20-22
